Common Grounds is one of the first in a new wave of coffee. Coffee that is made as it was meant to be, pure and simple. Coffee that should have been common all along.
Our Story
My name is Adyson Martinez, founder and the only member of Common Grounds Coffee. After working in the coffee industry for 5+ years I noticed a glaring issue, customers have no idea what they are consuming. Latte's packed with sugar, beans sourced from the cheapest farms possible, and alternative milks loaded with gums and oils; I just had enough. Serving these drinks felt wrong when the customer had no clue what they were drinking, where it was coming from, and what it was doing to them.
A health journey of my own helped me discover the power of eating clean whole ingredients and how amazing it made me feel. This gave birth to “Test Kitchen” where I began to experiment in the kitchen creating my favorite foods and treats using unrefined, whole ingredients. Through “Test Kitchen” I learned that almost anything can be replicated using none of the uncommon ingredients that are hard to pronounce and hard for your body to digest.
Then came Common Grounds. It had always been a dream of mine to open a coffee shop, but it became more of a reality when I combined my passion for coffee with my love of clean eating. I developed a recipe for refined sugar-free coffee syrups, tested out every gum and oil free alternative milk on the market, and sampled coffee from dozens of different roasters. A pivot from law school to coffee truck owner came abruptly lit by a pure passion for clean and healthy coffee. Ingredients common and all from the ground, to make the most uncommon cup of coffee you’ll ever have.
